In April 2024, a two-day kick-off meeting for the Horizon Europe COLOSSE project took place at the Dean's Office of the Faculty of Science, Masaryk University. The project is funded by the Pathways to Synergies 2023 call (Horizon Europe). COLOSSE connects Czech and Slovak research institutions in the field of plasma surface engineering, enhancing their potential for Horizon Europe and future EU research and innovation programs.
Representatives from all three partner research institutions attended the initial workshop. At Masaryk University, the project is being led by Professor Petr Vašina and his team, which includes the Department of Plasma Physics and Technology at the Faculty of Science and the Ceplant center, along with representatives from the RMU Grant Office and HR Award Office members, Barbora Wahlová and Zuzana Hrabovská. Their task in the area of personnel strategy is to map recruitment, onboarding, and development processes across all three partner institutions and create a comprehensive strategy aligned with the principles of the European Charter and the Code of Conduct for the Recruitment of Researchers. This strategy will enable the project to successfully attract, recruit, onboard, integrate, and develop high-quality postdoctoral researchers from abroad.
